Shy  Thrift Stores

Yard sales are few and far between in Ohio right now but thrift stores are in high gear.

I have an auction for a Magnalite roaster right now - gotten from my neighbor just before she took it to Goodwill.

It should sell between $30 and $60 depending on ebay quirks.

RE: Thrift Stores

I am itching for church rummage sales to start her in NW Indiana!!!  I am anticipating maybe late March to mid-April. I hope! Church sales are the best! Meanwhile, I shop frequently, usually weekly, in the many Goodwills, Salavation Army and other thrifts in my area. Oh, and I have a weekly auction that I can attend too although I don't every week.

FF - I feel your pain!  I so envy folks in Southern climes that can YS all year long. Our winter has been pretty mild so far in Va and there have been a few sales here and there, but not really worth it in my opinion.

I am going to try and get out and do some thrifting on Saturday .. so I'll let you all know how I do.  Going to check out some thrifts in an area that I normally don't shop .. about 30 to 40 mins away .. but hopefully I'll find something good!  (What I should do is attack my eBay closet again and see if there's anything good in there!! but I need some thrift therapy!)

RE: Thrift Stores

I already been attacking my ebay stash. I have 2 boxes, one pretty big to haul to a couple consignment shops this week, on Thursday or Saturday.  I'm trying to reserve for ebay the stuff I think I can get more money for.

RE: Thrift Stores

I saw one in today's newspaper that starts on Thursday and it's not too far from my house, so I plan to go. Yippee!

Goodwillhunter - what kind of goodies did you get?

RE: Thrift Stores

Some Angels jeans, a Calphalon pan and 2 baby toys all for $2.50 at 1 sale. (Toys sell well all year - even baby ones)

At the other I bought J. Crew jeans, a Bebe top, and a beaded bag in the design of our flag...(it may or maynot go)  Also, for me a Dooney and Bourke leather (vintage) purse - all for $15.00 - my D&B purse was $10.

RE: Thrift Stores

I need to get out to Goodwill more.

Not too many sales this weekend in CA where we live, its been a little strange since Feb last year was very active, I think thats when Brooke found her vintage Cameo ring for $5 in a box of costume jewelry. The Santa Cruz flea market here was shut down a few months ago since the property was under new ownership and I though it would have a big impact on the number of garage sales. I just read they are re opening it though in March which is good. It is a staple of the community here.
